Week 14

This week is back-to-school week for the kids! Summer break is over, but summer definitely is not. There have been some super hot days. We have been enjoying the pool at the apartment but are really looking forward to moving back to our new house (not the actual moving part!).

Now the fun stuff begins - the decorating!

The tile guy started on the kids' bathroom. This is 10" x 16" MULIA BRIGHTON, a white porcelain tile with slightly raised linear striation. It is installed stacked for a modern, sleek look.

And........ TA-DAAAA! Final stucco coat has been applied and our house is now a beautiful, buttery, yellow. When it first went on, it looked mustard, yikes!

Thursday mid-morning they stuccoed the back;
as you can see, they started on the patio cover too.
Thursday evening, stucco is drying and turning more buttery;
beams and joists for roof put in.

East side of the house
On Friday, they cemented over the old stucco on the front of the house (no picture), and on Saturday, they made the front of the house as beautifully yellow as the back, and no more ugly brown-orange or whatever that ugly color was called.

Inside the house, plastering the drywall has begun. All the screw holes and seams are covered and sanded. There are a lot of those, so this is a lengthy task.

Our doors arrived earlier than expected, only a week and a half after ordering! Here are our primed, composite wood, Craftsman style doors (delivered Friday, installed Saturday).

Doors installed to master bedroom entryway and master bathrooom

Door to powder room
By the end of the week, the patio cover was framed and shingled, and they started on finishing the ceiling with beadboard.

Adding wiring for the outdoor ceiling fan

My shower floor and shampoo niche tile arrived, I LOVE it so much!

We are both so pleased at the progress in your new house 😁We'll be happiest when you can all move in again. Unpacking, giving everything its own place and having room to move about. Won't that be great??😁😁😁
