Week 18

The first thing that happened this week is that on Monday morning, after a very hot, very dry summer, the sky darkened and it started raining! It only lasted 1 day but that was the impetus that was needed for our skylight window to get installed.

The tiling was finished in the master bathroom - right-hand side wall and bench - and our Grohe shower/bath fixtures were installed!

Not QUITE done... still needs a diverter & a tub spout
The kitchen floor tile was installed - same tile as in the bathrooms (Anticho series Timber).

The replacement Saltillo tiles were grouted and sealed, and now they match the old ones just beautifully.

We went back to the bathroom vanity store and ordered the units we want. This is a showroom model of the one we ordered for the master bathroom, except on ours, the sink will be on the left. It's from the "Sweden" series. One of the things I really like about it is that it has a lot of storage, and also that the cabinet is right below the sink with the drawers underneath, making good use of space.

The carpet guy brought over another set of samples; the one he had brought us previously was too fluffy. He brought berber carpet, which we also don't really like although the colors are nice.

I sent him a picture of one my friend Jennifer found for me from Home Depot that is discontinued and I asked him to see if he could find one like it.

Finally, on Saturday, the air conditioning guys came by and installed the final part, the condenser. Now we finally have lovely all-house AC! The condenser is a lot bigger than I expected, I thought it would be about half that height, but it's tucked away behind the garage so we won't really see it at all, and it runs fairly quietly too.
