Week 6

The house is coming along very well this week. The framing is now completely closed, the roof has been put on, but exterior doors and windows have yet to be installed. You can see the clear delineation of each room. The electrical is being installed with all the light fixtures and plugs being wired. We have ordered our plumbing fixtures, shower heads, bath, toilets and so on, and those will installed soon.

Below you can see what will become our master bathroom. The picture is taken from the middle bedroom out of 3, and to the left is the separate room where the toilet will be, and behind that will be where the shower and vanity with sink will be. On the right is where the middle bedroom closet is.

One nice feature of having the large pitched roof is a finished attic for storage. We needed to make room for the HVAC unit up there anyway, so our contractor suggested we put in planks that will support weight.

In the middle of the attic is column leading up the skylight in the hallway, and you can see the finished version below (without the window).

Here is the new family room, with Felix using it. Behind him is where the 9 foot French door unit will go. The doors have been ordered and will be arriving soon.

Finally, last Monday was a hot one! The guys were out there roofing in that heat....

Fantastic!! I'm sure I don't need to tell you to make sure the HVAC unit is mounted on anti-vibration mountings so that the house doesn't hum every time the air conditioning comes on.
Really excited and can't wait to see the finished project.Jon and Mom
