Ella today started her first day of kindergarten at Encino Elementary. Everything seemed to go well, and told us that the highlight was the teacher reading a book called
"The Kissing Hand". She also came home with a piece of artwork of her hand-print in red paint, with a red heart and a red sparkle on it, and a picture that she drew, of her family.
Here she is with her teacher, Mrs. Ferreira, yesterday during the orientation the school gives for new kindergarteners.

Here's a picture I snapped of her at the front of her new classroom, right before I left her for the day. Our little girl is getting so big!

(Sorry for the slightly blurry quality of these pictures. We snapped them in a rush.)

Oh wow, congratulations Ella (and mama and papa)! How exciting, now you're at the 'grote school'. Your teacher looks very nice!
Hope you love school (seeing as you'll be stuck there for at least another, err... 13 years, and then - hopefully - some more). Although you probably shouldn't take your tante Dunie as an example: 35 years old, and STILL there...!
Have a great time!
Wow, what fun! remember this day because in a week, it'll just be "school as normal".
Oma and OpaJon are so proud of their big girl.
Have lots of fun at school and learn lots of important things like reading, writing and arithmetic (what you call "Math" without the "s"!).
We enjoy watching you grow up, Girlfriend.
Lots and lots of love and a BIG HUG
from your Oma
Ella, you are such a big girl. You're goiing to have so much fun learning new things and making new friends. Your little brother will love hearing about your day and the cool things that you'll be doing. Have fun!
Love, Becky
